In the beginning: the art of the title sequence

We’re starting something new here at the mayfairtheatre.ca blog. From now on, we won’t just be writing about upcoming or current films at the Mayfair – we’ll be writing about all things film and film-related.

We’ll be sharing ideas, opinions, articles, trailers and links of interest cinema-goers and cinemaphiles alike.

And we’re going to kick it off with a link to one of my favourite movie sites, The Art of the Title Sequence. Which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, presenting and exploring stunning opening credits sequences from Vertigo to WALL-E and beyond.

Can’t open the link to the site here at the moment but, the first sequence that came to mind for me was the one for “Kiss Me Deadly”. Still gives me goosebumps.
