Sundance Film Festival, Genie Awards, and 5x Gemini Awards nominated director Paul Saltzman returns to India as he reminiscences on his time with the Beatles while they were on a spiritual retreat under the mentorship of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1968.

“It’s a lovely look back – happy memories are revived and wrapped in garlands, set to a sitar-and-tabla soundtrack. Beatles fans will dig the context behind the songs written during the Fab Four’s stay at the retreat.” (The Globe & Mail)

“a charming and important historical document of the group, the people around them, and Saltzman’s own little memoir. I loved it.” (Showbiz 411)

“Canadian filmmaker Paul Saltzman shares an extraordinary life experience…Along with his own personal memories, Saltzman creates a magical mystery tour of one of the most important and influential cultural events of the 20th century” (The Buzz)

Filmmaker Paul Saltzman retraces his journey of 50 years ago when he spent a life-changing time with the Beatles at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram on the banks of the Ganges River. In 1968, he discovered his own soul, learned meditation, which changed his life, and hung out with John, Paul, George and Ringo. Fifty years later, he finds "Bungalow Bill" in Hawaii; connects with David Lynch about his own inner journey; as well as preeminent Beatles historian, Mark Lewisohn; Academy Award nominated film composer, Laurence Rosenthal; and Pattie and Jenny Boyd. And much of this is due to Saltzman's own daughter, Devyani, reminding him that he had put away and forgotten these remarkably intimate photographs of that time in 1968.
