Shadow of a Doubt

Hitchcock finds noir shadows in sunny small-town America in this tale of a young woman (Teresa Wright) who comes to suspect that her visiting Uncle Charlie (Joseph Cotton) may be considerably less charming than he seems. Co-written by Thornton Wilder (Our Town), Shadow of a Doubt is a direct ancestor of Blue Velvet, and one of Hitchcock’s finest films.
