Presented by CFUW-OTTAWA

To celebrate International Women’s Day, CFUW-Ottawa would like to welcome you to join in the screening of Suffragette, starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep. Set in 1912, this powerful story follows these women in their fight for their right to vote in the UK.

Based on true events about the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.

Hollywood Film Awards: Actress of the Year (Carey Mulligan), Composer of the Year award winner!
Turia Awards: Best Foreign Film award winner!

Grade A! “a deeply stirring film” (The Plain Dealer)

5 Stars! “With outstanding performances from Mulligan and Gleeson, it’s an emotional and historically significant film” (Daily Journal)

Tickets: $15 – Tickets can be purchased at the door (cash only). Advance tickets will sold in advance to CFUW-Ottawa members only.

*This event is a rental. Cash only tickets will be available on the day of the screening. Normal Mayfair prices and memberships do not apply.

*Please take note that doors open 30 minutes before showtimes. We encourage people to arrive early. We have a small box office, a small candy bar, and a single-screen cinema, meaning that when most of an audience shows up a few minutes before showtime, it causes a bottleneck. If possible, we appreciate you arriving a little bit early to pick out your seat and get your popcorn. Thanks for your help!
