Our friends in the Rideau Valley Roller Girls present the Ottawa premiere of the brand new documentary ‘Derby Baby: A Story of Love, Addiction and Rink Rash’ on Tuesday August 14th at 9:00pm.
If you happen to know one of the RVRG ladies you can get advance tickets from them, or you can order them via the interwebs at Brown Paper Tickets.

· November 2, 2026Wow! What a great turnout for the showing of Derby Baby! I’m glad/proud that Ottawa has such a strong rollerderby culture and that the Mayfair maintains a relationship with that community. Good job everyone! It was a good documentary and lots of fun.

The simple fact is that when that many people show up to see an indie documentary, it makes it much easier and a justifiable financial option to show more films of like. Which is a great thing.
And yes…you’ll be happy to hear that the next cross-over event is indeed in the works.

We do too! There’s a couple other derby themed doc’s in the works that I’m keeping my eye on, along with a fictional movie or two that would fit the bill as well. Hopefully we’ll have another RVRG crossover event to announce soon.
