Two slackers (one of them the doomed John) discover a literal gateway drug — one that opens a door to another dimension — and take it on themselves to protect the world from the monsters that dwell in that dimension. This is a “campy B-movie farce and an ominous allegory in one… an inventive, crazy genre-bender,” (Salon) but we’d expect no less from the director of Bubba Ho-Tep.
