The Encampments – Screening on June 29!

Advance tickets now available for The Encampments!

INSAF UOttawa, SJP CU and the Palestinian Youth Movement invite you to their screening of “The Encampments” by Watermelon Pictures.
This powerful documentary captures the student-led resistance at Columbia and campuses across North America, demanding divestment from genocide. This time last year Ottawa students and community members joined this global movement and held an encampment on Tabaret Lawn.

*This screening is a rental, normal Mayfair prices do not apply.

*Please take note that doors open 30 minutes before showtimes. We encourage people to arrive early. We have a small box office, a small candy bar, and a single-screen cinema, meaning that when most of an audience shows up a few minutes before showtime, it causes a bottleneck. If possible, we appreciate you arriving a little bit early to pick out your seat and get your popcorn. Thanks for your help!

Students flooded Columbia University’s lawn to create the Gaza Solidarity Encampment in order to pressure their university to divest from the US and Israeli weapons companies. THE ENCAMPMENTS follows the central organizers of the encampment as they are thrust into the spotlight, face violent police repression and suspension, congressional pressure, and a media firestorm, all while fighting to attain their goal of divestment at any cost.
