Help Lesotho (www.helplesotho.org), an Ottawa-based charity, presents The Forgotten Kingdom, an award-winning film by Andrew Mudge that tells the story of a young man reluctantly embarking on a journey to his ancestral land of Lesotho (southern Africa) to bury his estranged father. He finds himself drawn to the mystical beauty and hardships of the people and land he had forgotten. The Forgotten Kingdom is the first feature film produced in Lesotho, a country with the worlds 2nd highest HIV/AIDS rate, debilitating poverty and severe gender inequity (http://www.forgottenkingdomthemovie.com/).
Help Lesothos Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Peg Herbert, will be on hand to answer questions about her work with vulnerable children, girls, youth and grandmothers in Lesotho. Peg will be launching her first-ever childrens book, titled A Girl in Lesotho and will be available to sign copies for purchase.
