The South – Screening on Saturday April 6 at 12:30pm!
A special screening of the award-winning documentary film The South, followed by an intimate Q&A with filmmaker Andrea Ramolo and CKCU’s Chris White.
Legends of spider bites among peasants, musicians as healers, and dance as the cure is what brings Italian-Canadian recording artist Andrea Ramolo to the south of Italy to explore her roots and find alternate ways to heal by way of ancestral knowledge. During a time when we need healing the most, why not turn to the past and dance and sing until we feel no more pain.
English, and Italian with English subtitles.
Tickets: $10 + HST advance / $15 at the door (cash only)
Advance tickets now available for The South!
Admission to the film screening is free for those who attend Andrea’s concert at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa (30 Cleary Ave.) on Friday, April 5 at 7:00 pm, presented by Harmony Concerts — tickets and information at Harmony Concerts: Andrea Ramolo Live in Concert
*This event is a rental, and tickets are cash only when purchased from the box office on April 6.
Normal Mayfair prices and memberships do not apply.
*Please take note that doors open 30 minutes before showtimes. We encourage people to arrive early. We have a small box office, a small candy bar, and a single-screen cinema, meaning that when most of an audience shows up a few minutes before showtime, it causes a bottleneck. If possible, we appreciate you arriving a little bit early to pick out your seat and get your popcorn. Thanks for your help!
