Messiah of Evil

Terror you won't want to remember—in a film you won’t be able to forget.

Messiah Of Evil – November 12, 15!

Advance tickets now available for Messiah Of Evil!

After receiving a string of unsettling letters from her father, Arletty arrives in a sleepy California coastal town called Point Dune. Dad is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Arletty finds a town full of drugged-out burnouts, barren shopping centers, and…something else. Echoing everything from Herk Harvey’s Carnival Of Souls to Mario Bava’s Kill,Baby…Kill!, Messiah Of Evil is a swirling vortex of Lovecraftian terror, analog synth attacks, and grisly bloodshed from the team who’d later go on to make Howard The Duck. Marianna Hill (High Plains Drifter), Michael Greer (Fortune And Men’s Eyes), and Elisha Cook Jr. (The Maltese Falcon) star in this unjustly overlooked major work of independent American horror that’s primed for (re)discovery.

One of IndieWire’s 100 Greatest Horror Movies of All-Time: “an underseen gem that manages to creep under the skin despite its very low budget…it’s full of iconic and memorable scenes…that recall to mind some of George A. Romero’s best work…worth seeking out.”

“an undervalued gem of American gothic filmmaking…Messiah of Evil is a triumph of mood and atmosphere.” (Slant)

“Trippy, terrifying and unique in ’70s shock cinema…this spry nightmare boasts set piece after stunning set piece. It’s essential viewing.” (Nashville Scene)

“Messiah of Evil is profoundly creepy: it’s an amazing success” (Alternate Ending)

*Please take note that doors open 30 minutes before showtimes. We encourage people to arrive early. We have a small box office, a small candy bar, and a single-screen cinema, meaning that when most of an audience shows up a few minutes before showtime, it causes a bottleneck. If possible, we appreciate you arriving a little bit early to pick out your seat and get your popcorn. Thanks for your help!
