A notorious criminal must break an evil curse in order to rescue an abducted girl who has mysteriously disappeared. From 3x Austin Fantastic Fest, 6x Fantasia Film Festival, and 3x TIFF award winning director Sion Sono! Starring Academy Awards winner Nicolas Cage, CinemaCon award winner Sofia Boutella, Fantasporto award winner Nick Cassavetes, and Fangoria Chainsaw Awards winner Bill Mosley!

“Sion Sono and Nicolas Cage. Has there ever been a more perfect actor/director pairing in all of Fantasia’s 25 years? The best part is that Prisoners Of The Ghostland is so much the movie you want it to be, as wild, original, visually delicious and just plain nuts as this collaboration suggests.” (Fantasia Film Festival)

“Sion Sono’s delirious mash-up of Western, samurai, and postapocalyptic thriller is a sly spoof of the mythical hero’s journey. Cage, in one of his most unhinged performances to date, swaggers through a wasteland populated by fearsome gunslingers, lethal swordsmen, vengeful ghosts, and a deranged desert cult. Working from a gonzo script by Aaron Hendry and Reza Sixo Safai, Sono orchestrates a large international cast through a kaleidoscope of upended exploitation tropes, balletic fight scenes, and audacious needle drops. Liberated from genre conventions, Prisoners of the Ghostland seems destined to conquer the midnight movie screens.” (Sundance Film Festival)

“it’s an amazingly bonkers narrative. The world design, set and costumes are so spectacular here that it makes everything seem loud – and I mean that aesthetically, as much as I do the performances. It’s all inherently feral, and it doesn’t shy away from being exactly what it is; bound to be a cult classic.” (Film Inquiry)

“The collision of influences alone is a deranged delight…Cage is the perfect leading man to shoulder all the outrageousness…It’s bonkers. It’s brilliant. It’s Nicolas Cage in all his give-no-fucks glory.” (Mel Magazine)

“The final product is something like a hyper-absurd post-apocalyptic Escape From New York riff. And I’m here for every last second.” (The Last Thing I See)

*The management kindly asks for all patrons to arrive 20-30 minutes before the movie starts. Since our space and seating capacity is limited, early arrival will help prevent last-minute overcrowding and give patrons enough room for proper physical distancing. We appreciate your cooperation.

In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter Bernice has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway.
