5 Stars! “It’s an exceptional piece of filmmaking, with a powerful central performance from Oscar Isaac. Isaac’s turn in Schrader’s film is not only the best performance of the year, but it’s also the best of the actor’s career…A wonderfully constructed character study, The Card Counter impresses on every level…It’s not hyperbole to say that Paul Schrader might just have delivered the film of the year.” (Movies In Focus)

5 Stars! “Oscar Isaac’s performance is a work of astonishing minimalism.” (Flick Filosopher)

5 Stars! “It’s a tour de force performance from Isaac…it’s all engaging as hell. And with Oscar Isaac at the center of the frame, exuding megawatts of dirtbag charisma” (The Maine Edge)

4/4 Stars! “Schrader does a superb job of peppering the narrative with startling, enthralling twists and a series of gripping sequences and set-pieces…By the time the riveting climax and note-perfect final scene roll around, The Card Counter has cemented its place as a truly exceptional endeavor that ranks near the top, if not the top, of Schrader’s solid body of work.” (Reel Film Reviews)

*Please take note that doors open 30 minutes before showtimes. We encourage people to arrive early. We have a small box office, a small candy bar, and a single-screen cinema, meaning that when most of an audience shows up a few minutes before showtime, it causes a bottleneck. If possible, we appreciate you arriving a little bit early to pick out your seat and get your popcorn. Thanks for your help!
