The era of classic family cinema returns to Orleans! Mayfair Theatre Orleans announces its grand opening December 2, 2011
The Mayfair Theatre Orleans officially opens its doors — and revives the era of classic family cinema — on December 2, 2011 at 6:00PM.
The Mayfair Theatre Orleans is located at 250 Centrum Blvd., Orleans (across the street from the Shenkman Arts Centre).
FAMILY-FRIENDLY PROGRAMMING
The Mayfair Theatre Orleans will focus on family-friendly programming, and will bring a greater diversity of film-going choices to Ottawa’s east end. In addition to family fare, the cinema will also offer first-run independent films and second-run Hollywood movies, as well as Québécois, other Canadian and foreign cinema. It’s the best of art house and the cineplex combined!
MAKING GOING TO THE MOVIES AN EVENT AGAIN
The owners and management are members of the team behind the renovation and reopening of the historic Mayfair Theatre on Bank St. Their aim is to make going to the movies fun again, and to offer the classic cinema experience you can’t get at home.
In contrast to chain cinemas, the Mayfair Theatre Orleans offers audiences:
GRAND OPENING
Along with a selection of recently released films, the cinema’s opening weekend will also feature a program of classic and family-oriented films including:
Additionally there will be a movie poster sale and performances by The Cow Guys (an Ottawa based performing duo who blend juggling, magic and comedy for all ages) all weekend long.
AFFORDABLE FAMILY FUN
Admission to the Mayfair Theatre Orleans is value priced — no more taking out a loan to take the family to the movies:
Annual individual memberships are only $10.00 and annual family memberships — good for up to two adults and four children under the age of 18 living at the same address — are just $20.00!
Special Offer for our Grand Opening Weekend Only: Patrons who purchase a membership card during the opening weekend will receive a free admission for their next visit before January 31, 2012.
So leave your home theatres at home, Orleans! It’s time to experience going to the movies again!

Will our membership count at the Orleans location or do we need to purchase a separate membership card?
If not, perhaps a combined membership card for $15?
· October 4, 2023Dear Lee,
· October 4, 2023In spite of what conception there might be about people who live in the suburbs, we believe that there has been an acute need for a cinema that shows good, intelligent and alternative films in the East end for many years. We are more than ready and willing to support this type of cultural enhancement in our lives and we will make sure that we spread the word to other people who will also appreciate the films that Mayfair presents.
Good luck and much success!

Pat —
Membership cards will be honoured at both locations. And starting in Dec., we’ll also be selling family membership cards — good for up to two adults and four children (under 18) — for just $20!
